  • AideRSS is looking for a talented UX/UI designer to help architect the tools to help people deal with information overload and find and ‘Read What Matters’. We offer a casual work environment, great location, competitive salary and a chance to hone your craft on state-of-the-art technology.

    You will need to maintain the existing UI applications, as well as, help define the information architecture and design of our upcoming tools and features. Apart from the implementation of the UI, you will also be responsible for helping to drive graphical and interaction design. This is a innovation-rich technical leadership role, with the opportunity to coach and influence the rest of the development team.

    Requirements
        •    Working knowledge of Photoshop / Corel / Illustrator, or parallel tools
        •    Expert (X)HTML/CSS skills, with hands on knowledge of silly browser quirks
        •    Proficiency in web-oriented JavaScript / AJAX
        •    Solid understanding of the graphical and interaction design aspects of UI development
        •    Experience with usability testing, research and web analytics
        •    Excellent understanding of programming fundamentals
        •    Strong communication skills are essential
        •    Portfolio of work and past projects

    The following skills will be considered a plus:
        •    Hands on Rails experience
        •    Ability to work well in a high tech start-up environment

  • AideRSS is looking for talented junior software engineers to help build the next generation technologies to help people deal with information overload and find and ‘Read What Matters’.  We offer a casual work environment, great location, competitive salary and a chance to hone your craft on state-of-the-art technology.

    Are you excited about coding? Do you want to deepen your programming skills and learn the latest web methods, languages and APIs? Do you know how to just start coding and get to the working code? Then we'd love to talk to you.

    Here are the specific skills that we are looking for:

    • At least 2 years of programming experience
    • Hands on experience with Ruby, Python, PHP or JavaScript
    • Passion for coding
    • Deep understanding of basic data structures and algorithms
    • Knowledge of XML and HTML

    The following skills will be considered a plus:

    • Experience with modern REST APIs including del.icio.us, Flickr, etc.

  • AideRSS is seeking a Quality Engineer who can leverage hands on experience with custom technologies to test remote interfaces, Web 2.0 UIs, and core web-services. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, executing and reporting on performance tests of our Rails site, APIs, and core web-services.

    In addition to performance testing expertise for *nix-based applications and services, you also should be well grounded in the principles and practice of more general software testing. You should be able to reproduce, debug, isolate and document problems as well as verifying fixes. You should be responsive, flexible and adapt easily to changing requirements and tight timeframes.

    Requirements
        •    Experience with automated test tools for web based and *nix applications
        •    Working Knowledge of Ruby, C++, MySQL, JavaScript/XHTML/CSS, Shell Script, SVN
        •    Adept at automating tasks in Ruby, Java, Python/Jython, Perl, Lua or bash
        •    Capable of diagnosing issues and implementing solutions for a variety of systems, Ruby/C++, etc.
        •    Experience with SQL and relational databases
        •    Knowledge of internet technologies, protocols, sockets and TCP/IP
        •    Demonstrable exploratory testing experience and otherwise working without a net
        •    A passion for best practices, standards, and detail orientation

    Your responsibilities will include
        •    Define test cases and test plans for projects
        •    Define and perform performance tests
        •    Automate key areas of functional, performance, and remote interface testing
        •    Communicate and troubleshoot problems with AideRSS users
        •    Work closely with development team to define and enhance the testing process
