I’m a big fan of language, but I freely admit there are areas where English falls short. There are some key descriptions and subtleties (especially as they relate to the human condition) that we anglophones just stumble over most inelegantly.

Many other languages, however, have fabulous terms that get my heartiest support for stealing and adding to our lexicon. I have found such a term! (Ok, fine, Ilya sent me the post since my Google Alerts hadn’t delivered it yet… Keener.)

And there you have it: l’infobésité - information obesity. Except it loses a certain something once translated, no?

I don’t know who coined the phrase, but I doff my hat to you, monsieur or madame. You have done a service to the online world. :)
